It was a good turn-out again at class. Lorraine wasted no time in getting the girls and I prepped and posing.
Today would be a little different. We had a guest judge. Her name ... Di Carr. Excellent!
Here's a pic of Di, side chest posing her way to win her second Qld State Title in 2005. This particular comp was my introduction to women's body building and my first look at Di competing. Awesome! After that comp I would say I was 50/50 on the sport, but after chatting with Di (we'd train at the same gym) and seeing her compete and win her category at the It's a Girl Thing Comp in March, I was convinced! I'll give it a go!
Thanks Di for coming along to our class and thanks so much for your demos. I especially liked your tricep poses.
Oh by the way ... after posing, I was first up to show my dance to the girls ... urrgggghhh ... scarey! And I'm dancing in front of Di! Extra scarey! How did I go? Yeah, pretty good.

my name is Magda and I read your blog with interest as I too was in Lorraine's group preparing for the October comps. However I missed the 1st group session as I was away on holidays and then circumstances were such that we are moving interstate in a few months and I know I can't give the preparation my best as I'll be tied up with selling/buying houses and packing/unpacking etc.
When I pulled out I felt really disappointed that this dream had to be shelved and I still haven't really come to terms with it. Every time I read your blog and look at your photos (so great that you're posting them!!) I feel a lot like I should be there.
I went to the All Girls Show and just loved it. It really inspired me to finally make the decision to compete myself. Oh well there's always the future but Adelaide (where I'm moving) only has 1 INBA show a year and October 07 seems SOOOO far away.
Good luck in your endeavour and I'll keep reading and watching your progress with interest.

Oct 7 is fair far away ... but if you break it down ... it's 20 weeks!

Hi Maraina, great to hear you are enjoying classes with Lorraine and having Di there. They are both great friends of mine and I loved coming up to the classes last year for my first season as a novice. Enjoy the journey.
Magda - I agree that you still have time if you want it badly enough - go for it!
