FOOD EXPERIENCE

I am told by friends and work colleagues that it's not too long now, and once it is all over I'll be able to eat whatever I like. True and not true. What I am most looking forward to is getting back to my diet regime, much like the one I had with Sue (Ideal Bodies Online). Of course I'll look forward to my special treat (one meal) after comp. I plan to have a nice brekky on the beach with Perry and my sister.

What is not true is that I can't eat whatever I like. Not immediately and though the temptation might be there to stuff a dozen loaves of raisin bread or boston buns, I can't. Not after. Due to me being on a strict or hard clean diet for so long my system won't cope foods that are high in salt, sugars and fats. It'll make me ill. I would spend ages explaining this to people that soon their faces go blank. I guess I don't really blame them, but it was so frustrating. Now I don't say anything except ... yeah, I can't wait to eat what I like ... it's much easier.

I hear you!!! People who are not involved in the bodybuilding industry really dont understand it. You can't blame them and that is why you say things like "yeah I can't wait to eat what I want". It saves a heck of a lot of time and effort in trying to explain.
Your an athlete now and you don't just "stop" being one when you walk off the stage.
Im glad your feeling better :-)
See you soon.

Hi Maraina,

You must be getting excite now, comp is so close.

If theirs one thing i can tell you about post-comp eating that is - Only take a few days off!!! :-) I have sugar intolerance and a week of eating crap turns me into a puffer fish LOL

I usually prepare some nutritious meals for work lunches(not diet food of course) to get me into good habits after comp. Its suprising how many people will say 'i cant believe your eating chicken salad'.... im like yes but it has a low fat dressing :-) ahh the simple pleasures!

Anyone who doesn't understand that obviously has never changed their diet. When I moved overseas (which time? haha), I found that what I ate changed a lot, simply because of what was available. Cue sickness!

Hi Sam, yes I'm getting excited. I can't wait to put on the bikini, shoes, colour, sparkles, nails, jewellery and then strutt my stuff. It's all good. Thanks for your food input.

Hey Fraz,
Long time no hear. Thanks for your post. You and I have done some crazy things with our bodies. Summer's round the corner and I miss those swims at the pool. I found some poor suckerxxx sorry student at the school to come swimming with me. He use to race in Norway. I'll give him a run for his money! Take it easy over there!

Too true Maraina, and you are a quick learner, hehe :) Let's face it, the so called 'normal' people, would never understand! When I refuse to eat something when out with the family, my MIL looks at me with sad, sorry eyes - and asks how much longer before I can eat 'normally' again. Yeah, it's hard to explain so i just say, 'not long now' :)

And it's NOT LONG NOW for you! Good luck, have fun!!!

The weird thing is Maraina, that you will actually crave clean food after the comp. It took me awhile to adjust actually :)
